Chairperson – Regina Molloy
Regina Molloy serves as Chairperson of the 2027 Geological Society of Nevada Symposium. She is a mineral exploration and mine development geoscientist based in Reno, Nevada, with 30years of experience across the full mining value chain, from early-stage exploration through mineral resource and mine development, underground operations, and open-pit mining.
Regina has held roles ranging from international senior assignments with BHP to field-based programs supporting ASX- and TSX-listed junior exploration companies and private investors.
Her technical work spans precious metals, base metals, energy minerals, critical battery minerals, and bulk commodities across four continents. Regina’s passion for geology began in childhood and remains rooted in field mapping and hands-on geological investigation.
She is also a dedicated mother and active member of the geoscience community.
Regina is a certified geologist with CPG (AIPG), RPGeo, FAIG, Pr.Sci.Nat, Chartered Status (GSSA).

Regina Molloy has taken on the chairperson role as the fearless leader for the 27GSNS. Regina is a mineral exploration consultant based in Reno, NV. She has 30 years of geological experience in the cradle-to-grave value chain of mining, including early-stage exploration, mineral resources, mine development, underground, and open-cut mining.
Regina has worked in a variety of roles, including international senior assignments for the world’s largest mining company, BHP, down to basic field programs for the world’s smallest ASX and TSX-listed mineral exploration “junior” companies, as well as private investors.
Regina has completed technical work in a wide range of minerals and bulk commodities spanning four continents. However, the geological task that Regina loves best is field mapping in the spring. She still thinks it’s fabulous that, as a geologist, you get paid to bushwalk and look at rocks and flowers all day long. Climbing hills and collecting interesting-looking rocks have been Regina’s love since her early childhood.
Regina is also the proud mother of two children and is helping raise a third.

Deputy Chairperson – Mark Travis
Mark Travis is a Certified Professional Geologist (CPG) and founder of Arkenstone Exploration, a mineral exploration consultancy based in Nevada. With over 20 years of experience in the mineral industry, Mark has worked across precious metals, base metals, lithium, and uranium projects throughout the Western United States.
His experience spans diverse geological terrains and mineralization settings, including both open-pit and underground operations, and the management of complex exploration programs.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Wyoming and has served as a Radiation Safety Officer (RSO). He remains committed to advancing responsible mineral exploration through the application of rigorous technical standards, emerging technologies, and collaborative stakeholder engagement.
He is an active member of AEMA, SME, and PDAC and serves as a director of both the Geological Society of Nevada and the Nevada Mineral Exploration Coalition.

Secretary – Eli Turner
If a GSN member is interested in volunteering for the Secretary role on the steering committee alongside some other talented geologists, kindly email and register your interest with the chairperson or deputy chairperson. Thank-you.
Eli Turner is a geologist based in Reno, Nevada, with experience in prospect generation and early-stage mineral exploration. Raised in Kansas within a historic Mississippi Valley-Type (MVT) district, Eli developed an early interest in geology that shaped his academic and professional path.
He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas and an M.S.degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he studied Mesozoic tectonics in the Death Valley region.
Eli currently works with Orogen Royalties as a project generation geologist focused on gold and copper exploration in the Western United States. His prior roles include exploration geologist at Blackrock Silver and internship experience with the USGS Earthquake Science Center.
He is also an active member of the Nevada Mineral Exploration Coalition.

Treasurer – Christina Ricks
Christina Ricks is a geologist with extensive exploration experience across the Western United States and Canada. Raised in Spokane, Washington, she developed an early interest in earth sciences that evolved through internships and academic training.
Her first professional exposure to geology came through an internship with the United States Geological Survey and participation in a deep crustal magnetotelluric (MT) survey extending from Montana to Oregon. She later gained field experience logging core at Teck Cominco’s Pend Oreille Mine.
Christina earned a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Eastern Washington University and has held exploration roles with Agnico Eagle across Nevada, Yukon, British Columbia, and Sonora, Mexico. She currently consults for Viscount Mining Corporation.
She remains actively engaged in both professional and community activities.
Sub-Committee Volunteers
The 27GSNS is supported by numerous dedicated volunteers coordinating specific event functions:
David Shaddrick’s contributions to Nevada’s geoscience community will be honored during the Symposium.
We extend our sincere appreciation to all Symposium volunteers for their dedication and service. Their commitment makes the 27GSNS possible and sustains the Geological Society of Nevada’s mission.
